Fencing Central and Fencing New Zealand welcome you to the 2021 New Zealand North Island Championship. We are really excited to welcome you to Wellington for a great weekend of fencing.
Spectators are more than welcome to come to the competition to watch the events at no cost. There is plenty of space available in the designated viewing areas at Wellington High School Gym.
Weapons Control:
Weapons control is open on Friday 6th August from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the venue. Weapons control is also open for one hour before the start of each event.
Competition Dinner:
A social dinner will be held at Big Thumb Restaurant on Allen Street at 7:00pm on Saturday 7th August. RSVP to tournaments@fencingcentral.org.nz
Food Stall:
A food stall will be available at the venue, however, disposable water bottles and coffee cups will not be available. Please bring a reusable water bottle or coffee cup.
COVID-19 Notice:
COVID Tracer QR codes and hand sanitiser will be available at the venue, and their use strongly recommended. If you are feeling unwell or showing any COVID-19 symptoms, we ask that you please withdraw from the tournament and stay away from the venue. The change to FIE rule t.122 will apply – fencers will not shake hands with their opponent or officials, but will salute instead.
