Victoria University of Wellington Swords Club and Fencing Central invite you to attend Trefoil 2025 from 22nd to 23rd February 2025. Trefoil is a ranked competition for 2025.

Please note the Fencing Central Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday 23rd February between the Epee and Sabre events at Trefoil.

Central Secondary School Novice #2 and U11 & U13 #3 2024

Wellington Swords Club and Fencing Central invite you to attend the 2nd Fencing Central Secondary School Novice competition on Saturday 24th August and the 3rd Under 11 and Under 13 competition on Sunday 25th August 2024.

Date: Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th August 2024
Venue: WSC Clubrooms, 8 Tanera Crescent, Brooklyn, Wellington
Entry fee: $20.00 for one event, $30.00 for 2+ events.
Entries due: Entries are due by Friday 23rd August. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the tournament organiser.

Eligibility:
Secondary School Novice is open to any fencer who is currently in Year 7 – 13 at school with less than 24 months experience in fencing.
Under 11 is open to any fencer aged 10 or younger on January 1st 2024.
Under 13 is open to any fencer aged 12 or younger on January 1st 2024.

Central Open & Training Camp 2023

Hawke’s Bay Blades and Fencing Central invite you to attend the Fencing Central Open and Training Camp 2023.

Training Camp: 3 to 5 October 2023
Competition: 7 to 8 October 2023
Venue: Havelock North High School Gym, 153 Te Mata Road, Havelock North

The training camp will be instructed by Steve Clarke (Foil), Mary Black (Epee), and Baz Clark (Sabre) over three days.

The competition will include both individual and teams events, with free entry to all teams events, plus a fun bonus event for each weapon! Teams events will be “Lightning” events (fencing to 9 hits rather than 45).

A social offsite BBQ will be hosted on the Saturday evening following the day’s events for everyone to come together. Please bring a plate if you are attending the BBQ.

Fencing Central Development Program

Fencing Central is pleased to be restarting its Fencing Development Programme – thank you to Pelorus Trust for providing the funding for this programme.

This programme is targeted to fencers aged over 13 year old, with a good level of fencing skills, and aims to support and develop successful, resilient, strong-minded and confident fencers, through training, social interaction and competitions. This programme will be run by coaches Robert Gastaldo-Brac, Daniel Chan and Russell Johnson and will take place most Friday’s 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the new Wellington South Fencing Club venue 11 Hutchison Road, Newtown, Wellington.

This programme requires commitment and minimum degree of fencing capability and fitness. Please follow the link for your further information and nomination into this programme.
